When a person commences new things there exists a certain sense of uncertainty and in many instances it’s totally not true and we continue things quickly and simply. In some cases it isn’t really and a simple little thing could cause us to have an entirely unfavorable first effect and perhaps even never have considered trying that pastime again. Yoga contains many health and fitness benefits, on both a physical and spiritual level Study even more about Benefits to yoga in addition to the benefits of Bikram yoga.

It might become a misfortune for anybody to skip out on them simply because they committed a foolish preventable blunder on their first day. Bearing that in mind this posting addresses the three most widespread mistakes of new Yogi.

The truth of the matter is that you will find lots of diverse varieties of Yoga and each includes it’s diverse points of interest. Ask yourself what it was regarding Yoga generally that tempted you and after that you could investigate a style that serves more particularly to that. You might like to set targets, be they bodily, intellectual or spiritual. Subsequently it’s a excellent thought to examine them with the trainer of your group prior to your start. Yoga educators are typically quite approachable and content to talk about their passion. They may be able to chat to you on the subject of your goals for the training and let you discover in case you are being reasonable, looking too high or simply too low. Ensure that your goal consists of a time frame so it can become something that is measurable.

Take note that regardless of what type of yoga you opt for, according to old fashioned yoga educating, the most important purpose of yoga routines is to help to make your respiration slow and improve your body cells oxygen quantity. If you grow to be a competent yoga scholar, you should have only about 4 breaths in every minute for your breathing while resting. Here is far more data related to Yoga breathing secret.

Having chosen that they will give this Yoga thing a go many people have a jump in to a One year course. These types of courses are usually an upfront payment agreement and advance from one level to the next as the weeks advance. They are a wonderful technique of mastering Yoga and becoming very good at it, yet it is quite possibly you’ll pick out a training this is not well suited for you.

The simplest way around this would be to become a member of a Yoga amateur course, also known as a drop in course. Should you choose these lessons for several weeks you will note a high turn over of learners as new individuals join and old individuals proceed. These kind of courses are made to provide you with a very large feel for the several types of Yoga. The level of the trainees in the group generally differs. Additional significant advantage to do this is that the classes are pay as you go. Thus, there is no massive monetary cost for you personally as you determine what type of yoga that best suits you.

In the past a Yogi needed to be an apprentice to a trained Guru for a few years prior to he might instruct even the easiest of Yoga process. These days a 3-day training course over a long weekend break is viewed good enough by some individuals. There’s a big difference in what you can expect to accomplish based on the abilities of the person instructing you on. Yoga starts to make a typical appearance on the sports injury list. A substantial reason for this is educators who’ve been educated adequate to be damaging. A skilled mentor won’t essentially be wonderful and an unqualified tutor won’t always be bad. Yet the it’s likely that absolutely cast in this direction. Hence it is smart to look at the background of tutors prior to beginning studying with them.

Most People want something more from life. Some want to alter their experience of living completely – some of us have hang-ups about ourselves that we want to change. But, sadly, for most of us, life keeps getting in the way! The daily stress of life – yes, tens of millions of people are suffering from stress and national health services all over the developed world are bleeding trying to cope with the resultant health issues – stops us dead – almost literally!

However, here’s something that you need to know. If you think that you suffer from stress, you’re way off the mark! Stress is not a barrier – you’re actually destroying your own life yourself. You are the problem – but that means that you have the solution. How are you the problem? Well, in actual fact, there’s no such thing as stress. OK, it seems real enough, the side effects are real enough, the related health problems, messed-up relationships and anxiety are real enough. But they are all just symptoms of an illusionary disease. Because, stress is simply a figment of your imagination, a construct of the ordinary adult mind that pays no attention to reality and, instead, is trying to make sense of what’s going on – and it’s using completely out of date data.

A little explanation will go a long way! Something happens that annoys you or stresses you out. Now, it’s not what’s just happened that’s the problem. It’s what you make of it, how your subconscious make you think that you feel and, as a result, how you react. You decide all these things using the conditioning that you internalized during your formative years. This is the data that your subconscious mind uses to evaluate everything that happens and every single person you meet – and that includes the difficult people that you think are the cause of your stress!

And your subconscious mind will always – yes, I said, always – refer to this out-dated data – and it does it automatically. This horrible mechanism is your default state of mind. And, as I’ve said, it always will be until you do something concrete to change it. And that something different involves you re-training your subconscious to pay attention to what is actually happening right now – not what your subconscious has concluded is going on! You must understand that your subconscious mind’s conclusions about current events can never – yes, you heard me, never ever – be correct. It’s not using the right data!

What can you do to change things? I’ve suggested that you must re-train yourself. I use the word re-train because, when we were little kiddies, we didn’t pay attention to what we thought was happening, we paid attention to reality. And that’s what you’ve got to learn to do all over again. To put an end to the process through which your out-dated data is taken as the basis for making your mind up, you must learn to focus on what your senses are actually telling you – and not allow your programming leap to different conclusions.

This is done through meditation – because meditation will discipline your normal undisciplined mind. When you meditate you re-learn to pay attention to the reality of the moment, what you’re hearing, how it feels when you breathe in and out, what you can feel in your arms and legs. You will destroy the process of second guessing what’s really happening. Until you do that, nothing in your life will change.

Many times in our life, we feel pressure from circumstances, whether they relate to finances, client requirements, family, or our health and personal needs. When these pressures intensify, they can build into a very damaging force. Our mental and emotional shape gets out of hand almost instantaneously, an we begin to feel that we are not alive. This state may cause many problems in our relationships, and even with our health. Massage treatments are not only an essential part of improving and preserving our health, but also an enjoyable experience for most people once they get used to it. Especially with targeted therapies like those in a deep tissue massage.

Massage can assist to reduce stress harm to the body. Cortisol, is a hormone created in the body when we stress, that was connected by medical studies to a number of serious health problems. Although it could seem a contradiction, Cortisol is not designed to damage us. The body is a perfect creation, and it requires Cortisol for to improve our ability to react in an emergency, increasing our speed, stamina, and even our capacity to solve problems. But the benefits of Cortisol are designed to be for short term use. When a high level of Cortisol is sustained too long, it consumes the body from the inside out, undermining the body’s defenses and multiplying risks of depression, infertility, contagious diseases, heart attack, stroke, and sometimes up to cancer among many others. Having massages may help bring down Cortisol levels by inducing total body relaxation, providing a relief for the body to recover from the exposure, extending our life, and maximizing our enjoyment in it. For millennia, the notion of healing through human hands has been in use in most countries around the world, but only now is it being substantiated in a more scientific way.

Massage therapy can directly improve our body’s balance and alignment, and help to increase it’s circulatory and lymphatic system operation, and the better these functions, the better the body is nourished, and the more powerful the immune system defenses against disease. Most headaches, cramps, and tissue aches also relate to circulation, and may therefore also be mitigated, along with increased mental alertness, skin condition, and even vision. Massage may also help fine tune muscle movement by developing synegies between the muscle fibers. The feeling that is produced is vibrant and uplifting, allowing a deeper sense of creativity and inspiration. A highly beneficial additional feature in many spas that can improve the benefits of a massage beyond normal results is aromatherapy.

It is no surprise that massage has been included in the lifestyles of wealthy people in almost all countries around the world and throughout the existence of humanity.

Ever think about stress?Today’s world is overflowing with stress. And there are so many different sources of stress and anxiety.

We face scheduling stress, trying to cram way too many events into a day. And often failing (more stress!).

Of course, we get stressed over performance, too, trying to fulfill the expectations of our employers, our families and society in general.

Let’s not forget the pure physical stresses that some of us face in our daily lives. This hit some people harder than others. For instance, nurses and teachers spend all day on their feet. Many construction and repair people spend much of their day climbing and balancing. It’s just not easy.

And there are our own internal stresses: Oh dear, I didn’t plan for the price of gas to go up that much. Too many restaurant meals again. When will I ever learn? I don’t want to go to the social. I don’t want to have to face the gossip of Mrs. BusyBody. Can’t I stay home? I can’t sleep. I feel anxious. I have too many things to think about. I can’t let go Aaaaaaaaauurrgghh…

Insomnia! How many people are suffering from insomnia. Well, there are 60 million unfortunate people suffering from insomnia in the US. There are 10 million more unfortunate people in the United Kingdom. And there are 3.3 million folks hit by insomnia in Canada. Well, with all those stresses, it’s no wonder we spend so many hours with our eyes wide awake

No More Stress, No More Insomnia

Fortunately, there are ways to manage insomnia, and one of those is remove the cover of the hot tub and relax before bedtime.

Most people try to de-stress in front of a TV. That strategy will never work. Try shutting your eyes and listen to what your ears are picking up from the what’s on TV. In most cases, the sounds are sharp and grating – and stress-inducing. Now open those eyes and count how many times in a minute modern TV shows change camera frames. This rapid-fire succession of images has been linked with creating extra tension in people.

Rather than TV, try a hot tub. Look what a hot tub has to offer:

Water. People have known for eons that water sooths and relaxes. Listening to water flow is soothing. Watching water flow is soothing. Dipping out feet in water is soothing (as long as the water isn’t too cold, of course). Hot tubs offer all these features.

SAFETY TIP: Water is soothing….but also dangerous. Never swim alone….and especially never hot tub alonewhen you are already drowsy or hoping soon to be. If your hot tub works too well, you might even fall asleep in the water. And that could be deadly.

Buoyancy. Gotta love water – what else can you float in? Floating reduces the gravitational pull on your musclesSo finally your body can be free from the stress built up over a day’s worth of gravity. There , now – doesn’t that feel better?

Warmth. There is no denying that the warmth of a spa has a soothing, calming effect on our entire beings. Our bodies relax in the warmth, it feels so good.

Steam. Breathing in steam has been known to lift a person’s mood and calm a person’s anxieties.

Massage: The water jets on your back can further reduce muscle aches and tension. So turn on those jets and sit back in front of them.

GOOD-SLEEP TIP: Sleep better at night knowing your hot tub is protected. Get a hot tub cover to keep animals, things and neighbourhood kids from falling in.

Many long-term insomniacs have discovered that a hot tub gives them the first good night’s sleep in years. Such is the value of reducing stress In fact, using a hot tub regularly has even been known to to cure some people forever. The trick is to give a chance for your body to cool itself down between hot tub and bed – this gives your body the signal our ancestors in cave-man days developed, that the sun is set and it’s time to sleep. Generally, a 90-minute wait is recommended, but even 30-60 minutes can often be enough.

You’ll always find something to stress you out. I’ve a friendwho telephoned me to tell me “I’m stressed out because I’ve nothing to be stressed out about!” Seriously! We never have to look far for something to whip up our adrenalin – and, if we can find nothing, we’ll make it up. In fact, if you are suffering from stress, that’s exactly what you’re doing – making it up. Your stress has got absolutely nothing to do with what’s going on or who’s doing what to you. Your stress is caused by how you react to what you think is going on or what you think someone is doing to you. Read the last sentence again! There are two steps lead to stress – your perception of what’s happening and your automatic reaction – these are two steps in the wrong direction.

How you view what’s happening is based on your “stored knowledge” – let’s see how that works. Joe at work asks you to do something that’ll take fifteen minutes. When he asks, his voice is “raw data” to your ears. You make sense of that raw data by using your stored knowledge – stuff that you learned during your formative years. This “knowledge” has nothing to do with the current situation. Be that as it may, you automatically use your stored knowledge to make sense of the raw data – and, in the process, make nonsense of it. As a result, you think that Joe has it in for you and is deliberately trying to ruin your day – this may be the farthest thing from the truth but this doesn’t matter to what you do next.

You’ve concluded that Joe has it in for you and your subconscious mind knows exactly how to react – because it’s been reacting to “threats” since some bully upset you in the schoolyard when you were six! Your subconscious mind doesn’t see Joe – it sees that bully. As a result you react – your mind starts working overtime concocting ideas and responses that stress you out – ranging “Now my day’s messed up” to “I hate my job”. Rather than just doing what you were asked to do and then getting on with the rest of your day, your own mind disables you – you can’t do what you’ve been asked to do to the best of your ability, you waste time and energy being annoyed and mess up your own day. This is the chain reaction that takes place every time we encounter anything and anybody – some encounters turn us on, some lead to stress.

But it can be completely different – you can live a life with no more stress. It’s up to you to can choose to focus on what’s really happening instead of letting your reactive mind ruin your life. It’s your choice. But, like all skills that you want to develop, you’re going to have to train yourself – and the last place that you train is in the middle of the game – you can’t start training when someone’s on your case, you’ve got to get fit before you go into battle. Focusing on what is really going on is easy – you’ve five senses use them! In other words, sit with your eyes closed and you’ll notice that someone’s turned up the volume! But no one hasThey haven’t, of course, it’s just that you’re more tuned in. Maybe you hear a bird singing – your automatic reaction will be “That’s a bird, I know birds, I’m bored, I’ll let my mind wander” – this is the mental recklessness that leads to stress. Don’t jump to the pre-learned conclusion – just sit and listen – and you’ll begin to hear a whole heap more. By breaking the link between what you’re sensing and what you think is happening, you’ve become aware. Training yourself this will enable you to stop jumping to the normal reactive conclusions that your subconscious mind has been jumping to all your adult life. So, the next time that you think that someone is on your case you can see it for real – perhaps just a minor irritation that, like everything else in life, will pass.

We all go through times when we feel our concerns pulling at our heart. Somehow we know that it is a situation that must absolutely be corrected, and we immediately seek the best massage therapy available, but are there other options?

Medically, it is considered a fact that stress over extended periods can be devastating to our body, and it certainly also feels like that too. Some of the services at your local day spa can help to uplift, invigorate, and create a sensation of wellbeing. You may not have thought of any of these therapies, but they can be as effective to relieve stress as massage, and can provide the benefit of achieving other important health objectives in the process. Feedback is telling us that there are various full categories of spa treatments that fit the description.

One that is usually underappreciated is the body treatment category. There are a wide range of body treatments developed to achieve very targeted goals, like rejuvenating, detoxifying, moisturizing, or softening body skin, and improving skin conditions like stretch marks, cellulite, skin spots, and scars. Body treatments, usually begin by preparing the treatment area with a full body cleansing using a procedure of many firm and smooth effleurage over a full-body lather having similar relief as a dedicated massage. Skin revitalizing body treatments follow the cleansing with an exfoliation scrub using specially selected ingredients like sea salts and essential oil extracts that renew, heal and uplift, and ending with a skin conditioning treatment that is often wrapped snugly, giving a feeling of safety. When the wrappings are removed, a sense of revival sets in that is simply amazing.

Another category of treatments that helps in stress relief is facial treatments. Facials are performed in an extremely calming environment, using soft lights and sounds all through the process of the steps of the facial. Skin treatment steps often are applied for a very specific time to provide the appropriate result, and higher end spas will use these times for massaging small body areas like the head and forearms. Our face is skin that is most punished by contamination, the sun, and the weather. The plain fact that we did something to protect and improve our face proactively can produce a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction. Altogether facials are very impressive: enhancement of the skin, fulfilling satisfaction, and complete relaxation. Facials are a useful and enjoyable stress-relieving process.

Partial exposure of our body parts in an intimate and relaxing place with a person we trust, opens us to receive the healing power of skilled hands to alleviate stress. Whatever your choice of treatment, it is of the utmost importance to stop the damaging effect of stress and anxiety in your life. Taking time every so often to indulge in lavish pampering could be the right solution for your life. If you are looking for recommendable skin care spas near Lauderhill, contact Sinless Skin.

Stress is an illusion. If you come to terms with how stress is created, you’ll start to understand that, not only are you the creator of your own stress but that, in fact, stress does not exist in reality. And, yet, the World Health Organization believes that stress will be one of the biggest killers of the 21st century. The word ‘stress’ won’t show up on death certificates, however. You’ll find coronary trauma, cholesterol, high blood pressure, organ failure all up there as prime candidates – the symptoms of stress. Because, although stress isn’t real, its knock-on effects are very real to its victims. And, yet, you create your own stress.

For sure, each day is replete with challenges. For far too many people, each day is an uphill struggle. But life’s swings and roundabouts are simply sent to try us. And, sadly, most of us are found wanting. Why? Because we are conditioned to dwell on the negative, to believe the worst, to feel inadequate, to react. The average person never acts – they only react. And when they react, they don’t react to what’s really happening, their programmed minds react to what they think is happening. Herein lie the seeds that flourish into stress – with all its very real consequences. Because, in reacting, we make things worse than we think they already are.

The normal subconscious was conditioned during our formative years. Since adolescence we’ve learned almost nothing new – we just rehash our habitual behaviours, the same reactions, the same mistakes. As a result of our conditioning, we never see what’s actually happening – we perceive what we believe is going on and react according to our conditioning. And have you ever noticed that reaction makes things worse?

Stress is the by-product of inappropriate thought. Something happens – or worse, something doesn’t happen but we have convinced ourselves that it’s going to happen – and, as a result of our own subconscious perceived inadequacy, we get stressed. You fall foul to an automatic chain reaction that is not based on reality but on your own thought processes. And it’s simply how we are – that’s how we’ve been wired. To put it bluntly, our minds control us, not the other way around! As accurate a definition of madness as I’ve ever encountered.

The key question is how are we going to break this reactive behaviour? You’ve got to stop paying attention to the nonsense in your head and you’ve got to start paying attention to the reality of the present moment. In the present moment there is no stress. In fact, in the now, despite evidence to the contrary, all is well. The secret to a stress-free life is to be discovered in being present in the reality of now. This is quite different from subconsciously living in a childhood long past and, because you’re hard-wired to self-implode, it requires re-training.

Psychology has established that the mental state of happiness is closely correlated with giving full focus to the now. When our breath is taken away by the beauty of a setting sun or an out-of-the-ordinary life event like the birth of a child, we experience a natural high. You must learn how to self-administer that natural high. And it can be simply done. One starts with small steps – for small steps lead to great strides.

So, when you finish reading this, give yourself five minutes. Sit down, close your eyes and just listen. Don’t do anything else. Just hear what you’re hearing. Don’t start thinking about what you’re listening to or how you feel. Just hear. Your mind will rebel – it doesn’t like someone else – you – trying to grab the controls. As a result, your normal distractive thoughts will fight for your energy. Don’t let them. However, don’t try to fight them, simply hear the next sound.

With a few minutes’ work every day – regularly working with each of your five senses – you will re-learn to concentrate your mind on reality. And, in reality, there is no stress.

Some people think that massage is a waste of time and money and that adds very little value to their life. These opinions cannot be more mistaken. Regardless of whether or not an individual has a massage, it is essential for each of us to take some daily personal time for centering and balancing ourselves in our hearts and minds, and regain control over our otherwise scattered thoughts and desires. This time, which should already be dedicated, can occasionally be used for massage, thereby eliminating any incremental time investment. In particular if you are able to find a quality massages therapist that is close to where you spend your time. As far as the cost, there are all prices, many options, and lengths of treatments, and not everyone can afford massage, even the less expensive options. It must be understood, that just like any other purchase, there must be a significant return for our money. When you understand the benefits, the price for massage becomes negligible.

Massage improves our health. It improves our balance and spinal alignment, and promotes blood circulation and lymphatic performance, creating a more nourished body that is cleaner of toxins, and that has stronger devenses to fight disease. It also fine tunes muscle performance by allowing fibers the synergy of working more synchronously. Aromatherapy can further improve the results of a massage as well to increase higher levels of physical energy or more profound relaxation.

Massage helps us to avoid the more serious consequences of stress. Cortisol, the hormone that experts say probably causes all the illnesses resulting from stress, is actually not evil in itself. It improves our reaction times, focus, physical power and creative problem solving ability, and makes us a force to be reckoned with. However, the benefits of the hormone are meant for short spans of emergency use, and need to be released. Prolonged exposure to cortisol has very damaging effects on our health. People accustomed to feeling a constant pressure in their chest and pain in their necks due to stress have a higher risk of serious diseases such as heart failure and strokes. Massage therapy helps to relieve our bodies from stress by releasing accumulated nervous tension and inducing deep relaxation, which is precisely an interruption of stress.

Good self-esteem is the foundation upon which a happy and healthy life is built. Being touched by the hands of a talented and caring massage therapist makes you feel loved and cared for, and creates a feeling of worthiness that boosts self-esteem. The notion of healing through the hands has been around for ever, and is essentially the power of the human touch.

There are a number of other important benefits of massage, such as:

•	Relieving circulation and tension pains.
•	Improving mental acuity and concentration.
•	Inspiring creativity and productivity
•	Extending people’s productive life span.
•	Being a lifestyle enhancing pleasure.

These are some of the reasons why massage has been a part of the lifestyle of people who can afford these services around the globe for millennia.
Do you often feel like you’re going to lose your mind if you continue to work in such a stressful workplace? We all experience stress on the job. It is not unique to anyone, but what is unique to each of us is how we deal with it.

It is of utmost importance now – dealing with stress at work.

You can learn to deal with work-related stress in a positive manner so it doesn’t continue to hold you back. When you are unable to deal with stress effectively, you can’t be as efficient or effective on the job and, more importantly, your health will suffer.

Techniques to Deal with Stress at Work

When you feel stressed out at work, you need to learn how to harness your emotions so you can move forward. Luckily, there are many ways you can do this; you just need to find which technique works best for you.

Here are five workplace stress techniques:

1.	The best thing you can do when you feel the stress coming to a boil is to stop what you’re doing and just breathe. You’ll be surprised at how much it helps just to take a breath and gather your thoughts. In fact, take ten slow, deep breaths, then return to your work. The great thing about this technique is that you can do it anywhere, even when you’re sitting in your boss’s office!

2.	Take a moment to write. When you start to feel stressed, find some privacy, pull out a blank piece of paper, and write freely for five minutes. Free, uncensored writing for just a few minutes will allow you to get the emotions out of your mind for good. When you put all of the emotions down on paper, crumple it up and throw it away. Then try to return to work without the stress.

3.	Use positive imagery. Keep a calming picture on your desk or on your computer background and when you feel like you cannot take anymore, stare at the image and imagine yourself there. Doing this for even 60 seconds can restore your sanity so you can move forward without the crippling effects of stress.

4.	Listen to peaceful music. If you put on calming music when you’re stressed, you may find that it can instantly calm you like nothing else. If you keep the music quiet and peaceful, you’ll feel at ease during your work day. Music is a great way to find peace and lose the stress.

5.	Use positive thinking. When stressful and negative thinking is getting the best of you, you can counter it with positive statements and thoughts. You can say things such as, “I can manage stress because I proactively choose peace.” When you repeat positive sayings in your life, you’ll be able to squeeze out negative thoughts from your mind, and move towards the positive.

These are five simple ways to cope with stress on the job. The great thing is that you can quickly and easily incorporate these strategies into your work day without allowing stress to overwhelm you.

Every day will bring new stressors into your workplace, and that is why you should have several different coping techniques in your stress management toolkit. Once you begin to incorporate these strategies into your life, you will find that everyday stress will become easier to deal with, and you will actually feel healthier and more productive.

What is stress and how does it affect us? Stress can be defined as the non-specific response of the body to any demands made upon it. In other words is the interaction between the coping skills of the individual and its environment. When talking about stress, the first question that comes to my mind is, what causes stress? Well, there are 2 factors that cause stress. At first, is a stressor, and second is what we call the stress-reactivity. A stressor is any stimulus which has the potential of trigging flight or fight response.

Stressors are those, for which our body is evolutionary trained, when there was a threat to our safety, consider the example, the cavemen who saw a lion looking for its next meal, had to react quickly. Cavemen, who were not strong enough or fast enough, didn’t have to worry about their next threat. They become meal for the lion, so the flight or fight response was necessary, and its rapidity was vital for survival. Modern day men and women also react to stressors with the same response, for example, when you step off a curb, not noticing a car coming down the street, you hear the car’s horn, you quickly jump back on the curb. Your heart beats faster, breathing changes, you perspire. These are all manifestations of your response to the stressor, which is the threat of being hit by the car.

We encounter different types of stressors. There are environmental stressors like heat, cold, toxins. Some psychological stressors like threat to self-esteem, depression. And other sociological stressors like death of a loved one, unemployment and then there are other philosophical stressors like use of time and purpose of life. We encounter stressors everyday and in every walk of life. The flight or fight response to a stressor is termed as stress reactivity. It includes increase in muscle tension, heart rate, elevated blood pressure, less saliva in mouth, etc.these reactions prepare us for swift response. When we buildup stress products and do not use them, this stress reaction becomes unhealthy.

Some stress is natural and necessary part of life. It is inevitable and also desirable. At low level of stress arousal you are not motivated to try very hard so you don’t perform well. At another extreme, too high level of stress arousal disrupts your performance on all your tasks. Hans Selye (a researcher in stress) summarized stress reactivity as a three stage process termed as General Adaptation Syndrome (GAS). Phase 1: alarm reaction- the body shows the changes characteristic of the first exposure to the stressor. A burst of energy is made available to you. Phase 2: stage of resistance- resistance ensues if continued exposure to the stressor is compatible with the adaptation. The bodily signs of alarm reaction have virtually disappeared, and resistance rises above normal. Phase 3: stage of exhaustion- following long continued exposure to the same stressor, the adaptation energy is exhausted. The similar symptoms of alarm reaction reappear, but now they are irreversible and this could be fatal. Stress has many effects on our health.

If not given proper attention could lead to hypertension, stroke, ulcers, migraine headaches, coronary heart disease, tension headaches, asthma, hay fever to name a few. Have you ever noticed that some people are more prone to stress than other. Some people tend to react to stressors with an all-out physiological reaction that takes a toll on their health. We call these people as hot reactors if you notice people who get angry easily, are often anxious or depressed, urinate frequently, experience constipation or diarrhea more than usual, experience vomiting or nausea, there is a good chance they are hot reactors. People who are perfectionist, obsessive compulsive, etc. are more prone to stress.

The management of the five components of stress in the way to reduce stress: 1) Changing stressors: Identify the regular or predictable stressors in your life. Commonly they are job, relationships, and unreasonable demands. You can change the stressor, quit it, improve it, or tolerate it. 2) Changing your physiological responses: Life style modifications, healthy diet, relaxation, exercise. 3) Changing behavior: An important part of managing stress effectively involves changing your behavior so as to replace old, stress increasing and self defeating behaviors with more successful behaviors. 4) Changing your perception: Interpretation of your situation as a threat makes it a stressor for you. Your expectation whether or not you will be able to cope with it influences your level of stress and your expectations of your not coping also influences your levels of stress. 5) Changing your feelings: How you think is how you feel. Learn to handle your bad feelings. Denying your feelings and pretending they don’t exist will only make things worse. These are just a few suggestions understand and start working on the stressors you feel in your life. Rare is a person who doesn’t experience any stress. The first step is to be aware. Observe and introspect to identity the stressors in your life. As a starting point think of all the stressors in your life and the level of stress they bring to you.

Living in this fast paced world, to be able to beat stress, one needs to educate oneself in the area of – Dealing With Stress.
