Anna Miller, Depression Project & Keith Juhnke, Drug Free Bipolar Solutions Part 1 Anna Miller, the founder and CEO of The Depression Project talks with Keith Juhnke from Drug Free Bipolar Solutions. They discuss Keiths experience with bipolar depression and Keiths experiences with the psychiatric mental health system. Now Keith is fully recovered and has been drug free for more than 10 years. Is recovery from depression really possible? Are bipolar experiences really mental illness caused by a chemical imbalance and brain disease or is the experience a spiritual emergency? Psychiatrists label someone with bi-polar disorder far too quickly in my opinion. Just as they label children with ADD far too easily.

I was interested in hearing what the manic side was, but he never addressed it. He seemed to more describe a depressive disorder and not bi-polar. An interesting story, though.

Anna Miller looks really bored.
By the way Keith, get a grip and stop living your life by some stupid book called “The Bible” and “Prescribed Drugs” as they’re not going to help you in anyway what so ever, it’s already proven.
I recommend travel, love and maybe a hobby! (Get a life)

Anybody can go to a psych doctor and get drugs. Stress is a built-in part of life. Sudden changes can shock the emotional system and cause an emotional breakdown. That’s normal. The deal breaker comes with how we cope/adapt to the changes.
3 main causes for suffering (Buddhism):
Attachment (desire)
hatred (aversion)
ignorance

Hey psychetruth,
What happened to the “Depression & Bi-polar Myths” series Anna was doing w/ Dr. John Breeding? They went up to Part 4, but alluded to doing more vids together…? Now there’s this new series?

This kind of stuff makes me really happy that I my mom only had ONE appointment with this one so called psychiatric doctor. After one appointment he wanted to hospitalize my mom! My mom was sad from loosing her job and they wanted to stick her in a hospital. Both me and my mom knew that the doctor was off his rocker and we left. I cant stand psychiatry. Its pure evil.

One case it is not same as clinical trials. And it is never will be if it is no profit in it.
Health care system should be not profit seeking company!

You talk to the God? I can accept that, like I accept “dancing a round the fire for better harvest”. Ore “Santa” for kids.
If God talks to you it just to options: Psychos you need medical help ore fraud most coming behavior encourage believing for some advantage

Watch out for people who think you “need” your “medication” they will look for any mistake and be as vigilant as they can to persuade you that you are flawed and would be okay if you’d take your medicine–they attribute everything–even mistakes or difficulties that they share themselves , to not being on your medicine– it is scary how they look at you like you a somehow not valid and how they corner you and attribute these negative qualities based on times when life’s road got rough..

What’s disturbing to me is he doesn’t realize that when he’s in a state of psychosis, he becomes very uncomfortable to be around. I have a nephew who went into psychosis and he wouldn’t leave anyone alone. He wanted to hold your face in his hands when he talked, he wanted to hug you as hard as he could for 10 or 15 minutes, he kept knocking at your door and following you around to tell you “just one more great realization.” If all the crazy people have realized the answers, why isn’t the…

world enlightened yet? All the people who’ve gone mad each think that they have the ultimate answer for happiness for everyone. My nephew also got very upset when people disagreed or didn’t want to listen, and he tried to psuh his new found “wisdom” onto everyone else, and became threatening and controlling, thinking he knew everything and was going to make everyone take heed of his wisdom. Although he was lucid and had gained some insights, a manic state of mind is unsustainable.

It will lead to trouble, ones life falling apart, and difficulties with other people. I ended up tackling him and holding him down and had someone call the police. He was put in the psychward for about two weeks and diagnosed as bi-polar. He appears to be a lot better now.
